What does this site consist of?
-
The site is very simple - it basically consists of the 10 pages which correspond to the elements of the navigation bar at the top of the page.
-
The site operates mainly as a portal, providing links to different sites for learning English via the 'Net
Who / what is this site for?
-
The site is for anyone who wants to improve their English either on their own or as part of a university / school programme
-
This site was designed for 3rd year students at Grenoble IUT in France (studying website design and engineering), so although some of the links and activities proposed are related to computing, most of the material is fairly general.
How should I use this site?
-
You will, of course, need a multimedia PC (sound & VDO card, headphones etc). The faster the internet connection, the better...
-
Choose an area you would like to work on from the navigation bar at the top of the page (eg "listening"), click on the navbar and choose a site to work on.
-
First I suggest you visit STUDY AIDS to see the dictionaries etc which are recommended. Choose a dictionary or two, and leave them open while you work.
-
I also strongly recommend using some paper / a book in which to note vocabulary, structures, rules etc and a pen. If you don't write down new words and expressions etc, you will forget them. Really.
So, it's now your decision, with your teacher's advice if necessary, to choose what you want to work on.
The site is fairly intuitive - just choose what you want to work on and use the navigation bar at the top of the page to visit e-learning sites.
